Happy new year to you, and many thanks for this newsletter. I agree wholeheartedly that teaming the skills required remains a key part and a challenge to the delivery of UC to SMB. I don't see it as entirely the vendor's responsibility, but those vendor's that drive it that way are perhaps more likely to succeed. We're starting to make some headway with more collaboration between our channel partners, with some good results... although the closest we have been getting to UC in any volume has been with Cisco partners. Hope that doesn't count as foul and abusive language ;-)

I do hope IBM 'gets back on the bus' - in theory they are so well placed to make it work for them!

Have a great 2011, and maybe catch up with you at an event sometime this year,

It is a shame that IBM dropped the ball on System i telephony. Good idea but terrible marketing. I wish IBM had purchased 3Com instead of HP. We ended up moving to HP servers and upgrading to VCX 9.5. What are you hearing about the future of VCX? Do you think that HP will continue to support and develop it further?

I'm very happy with it. It is a nice simple one box (two if you count the secondary) solution. I would love to see HP really get out and market the product like it needs to be done.
